“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn’t be. And what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?”
These words by Lewis Carrol resonate with my approach to life and go a long way to explaining why my degree in Business & Management at Tilburg University just wasn’t going to float my boat. Upon graduating I followed my gut and entered the world of fashion. Fashion is freedom for me; it’s an infinite playground where I feel anything ‘can be’.
Born in Switzerland to Russian and Georgian parents I grew up in Moscow and latterly the Netherlands — and this mix of cultures translate in my love for the eclectic — for the random and unexplainable. I mix the unmixable — crazy colours and textures go hand in hand in my world. I never follow trends, I follow what looks beautiful together, even when its slightly ‘off’ there is often a beauty found in these dimensions.
I’m currently Scotch & Soda’s Fashion Consultant and Senior Stylist — working alongside the Creative Director to create narratives and looks for the upcoming seasons. When I’m not wearing my Scotch hat I can be found pursuing a myriad of self initiated stories and plotting shoots in far flung corners with a talented bunch of collaborators.
